I recently embarked on a road trip to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to visit the hipster enclave of Portland Oregon. Portland is a fast growing hipster infested city that was made famous by the TV show Portlandia.

Nestled between the Willamette and the Columbia River, Portland boasts a great food scene, world class shopping, and of course 250+ days a year of rain. The reason for my visit was simple, explore the beautiful wine country and sample some of those legendary Voodoo Donuts. That’s right, I’m traveling half way across the country to eat donuts, don’t judge me!

First things first, I arrived in downtown PDX and parked my vehicle in a parking grade for an outrageous fee. Next, I began my foot journey to Voodoo Donuts which is located near Burnside in the heart of downtown Portland. Voodoo Donuts is famous for their delicious and artistic donut creations that are truly out of this world. I must warn you, this place is not child friendly because many of the donuts are created in very inappropriate shapes. Like usual, there was a giant line out the door and it took over an hour just to get inside the building.

In the last few years Voodoo Donuts has become extremely popular due to recent publicity on the variety of TV shows and news programs. Once inside I was greeted to a grungy and trendy interior with trays full of donuts as far as the eye can see. I decided to go with the local favorite, and combination of a glaze donut with captain crunch cereal on top, and I must say it did not disappoint. After my donut excursion it was time to tour the beautiful wine country that surrounds the city. I met up with a girlfriend who lives in the area and we decided to rent a limousine. This would allow us to drink our fill in wine and not have to worry about transportation for the rest of the day. I did a quick search in Google and the first company that came up was Bridge City Limos. Located in Portland, Bridge City offered the best limo wine tours Portland OR that we could ask for.

After being picked up we were rushed immediately out to the Willamette Valley where we got to tour our first winery. As a long-term wine drinker I had heard great things about the Pinot Noir wines that are grown in Oregon, and I must say they did not disappoint. After drinking a flight of wines we decided to Billy pick us up and take us to the next winery. Cruising around wine country in a limo was priceless and we really enjoyed the experience.

After a long day of eating Voodoo Donuts and touring wine country we decided to call it a night. The limo company picked us up and took us back to our hotel. We arrived right at sunset and were treated to a beautiful view out of our hotel window. From the moment I arrived I fell in love with Oregon and I’m very excited to travel back to the beautiful Pacific Northwest as soon as possible.
